Don’t be Afraid to Ask!

Below are some of our most frequently asked questions. If you have others, please don’t hesitate to contact us!

YES! Staff stays over-night and checks on each and every dog and cat. In fact, the overnight staff submits a report in the morning to ensure that we delivered the previous day’s care and services specifically requested for your pet. Staff members also clean and do laundry while your pets sleep.

CHECK-IN AND CHECK-OUT

Our Resort works similar to a hotel. You are welcome to Check In/Out anytime during our lobby hours. Rates are per day, if check-out is before noon Monday-Saturday the daily rate is waived. Sunday the daily rate applies to all boardings. For more information on our polices please read our Pet Services Agreement. On site care is provided 24/7; Early/Late/Holiday Drop Off or Pick Up may be accommodated if scheduled in advance. A fee will apply.

This is a great question! We advise you keep a current file and vaccination records with us at all times in case of an unforeseen emergency. This allows for smooth admittance to our resort during stressful times. If your emergency is during business hours, you can reach us by calling the main number at the resort; 716-549-1761. You may be asked to leave a message after hours, messages are checked nightly.

We only allow pets from the same household to stay together overnight. We have designed our resort to provide the utmost in safety and comfort for your pet(s). In our view, open boarding leaves the potential for dog altercations, the increased likelihood of the spread of communicable illnesses, and the decreased likelihood of a quiet and needed night’s rest. Creature Comforts invested in multiple air-handling systems that allow total and complete air changes in multiple zones, including the common or open areas and the sleeping suites.

Additionally, we aimed to reduce noise by creating sleeping suites for each dog and adding sound-reducing materials to the interior of the walls.

Not all dogs have the appropriate temperament for group play or group sleep. Our staff thoroughly cleans each suite and prepares each suite for your dog or cat. During, and after a long day of play and activity, we also clean the large day camps and common areas. If the pets slept in the common areas, we could not adequately clean and prepare them for the next day of play.

After a long day of play and activity, the dogs and cats need their rest in a clean, quiet, environment without distraction.

Dogs are pack-animals by nature and would prefer to be with other animals and other people than to be left alone at home. If your dog suffers from separation anxiety, the best antidote is to keep him or her busy, active, and in the company of others. We aim to de-stress any pet with mental and physical challenges, such as day camp, swimming, long walks, field play, and socialization. Our cats even enjoy play time.

Finally, in the event of a weather emergency, we maintain a power generator, a supply of bottled water, and share our 4-wheel drive vehicles so that electricity and staff are always here.

Our boarders participate in a variety of services offered during their stay with us. We insist on one more pamper service before they go home – so they go home fresh and clean when you reunite.

You can always upgrade to a spa bath package or a full service grooming. We offer the spa bath package at a reduced rate for boarding dogs/cats. The spa bath includes bath, basic brush out, premium shampoo options and 2 extra services of your choice-the most popular being nail trim and ear cleaning.

Most dogs will have day camp from 9:00am – 4:30pm, with a nap-time break during lunch. Some pets may need extra breaks or time-outs from time to time. We allow all boarding dogs to enjoy their morning meals and rest before play group begins and rest again before their evening meals. This is done to reduce the chance of bloat and upset stomach. We may adjust your pets day camp hours depending on your pets meal schedules, eating habits, needs and behavior.

Most appointments run at least 3 hours, as they include consultation with the groomer, a spa bath consisting of coat comb-out, two washings, pawicure, ear cleaning, cool-air drying, as well as the hair cut and breaks for water and walks.

The differences in haircut, weight and breed determine the amount of time required. Requests for expedited grooming services for those on a tight time schedule may be accommodated by requesting a straight through appointment.

The breed, weight, coat condition and type of service determine the fees. Coat condition can vary between grooming appointments and therefore each appointment fee may vary. Matting and dense undercoat are the two most common reasons for prices to vary.

The essential vaccines are current Rabies, Distemper and Bordatella for dogs and Rabies and Distemper for cats. A record of a negative feline leukemia test is required once on their first stay.

Much like a human hotel, we need time to thoroughly clean and prepare the pet suites. Unlike a human hotel, your pet requires our care and attention for any walk, feeding, or playtime and cannot simply wait in the lobby, unattended. Thus, early arrivals and late departures receive additional services.

Our 24-hour pet care staff is trained to monitor your pet’s health and welfare and administer first-aid treatment while they are in our care, but we are not a veterinarian hospital. Should the situation arise that we feel your pet requires medical attention we will contact you or your emergency contact to coordinate veterinarian services with your pet’s own provider or the Orchard Park Veterinary Medical Center. We are within a close proximity of multiple animal hospitals and clinics in the case of an emergency.

DAY SERVICES:
24-hour cancellation for day services including; grooming, splash pad and basic day-camp.

BOARDING:
For boarding, a 2-day (48-hour) cancellation with the exception of holiday periods when a 7-day cancellation applies and is required, in order to credit your deposit. All dates booked with the resort are charged in full after the cancellation period has expired, even if the owner chooses to shorten their pets stay. Reservation times are required for all services including pick-up and drop-off from our resort. This ensures smooth operation of our resort, staffing needs, and that we will have your pets room ready Or that your pet will be clean, dry and ready for departure. We strive to offer quality care to every pet in our resort and scheduling allows us to plan our day accordingly. We thank you for understanding!

As you are leaving your pet in our care during your absence, the check in exam lets you tell us about your pet and expectations for their care. This is also the opportunity to tell us about any medical needs, medications or supplements. There is no additional charge for this nose to tail exam, as this is part of our services for our guests.

All dogs in our care are allowed outside to do their business in one of our many fenced yards. Dogs are allowed to potty off-leash in these areas. If you would like your dog to remain on-leash please note that on your enrollment packet. Potty times are approximately 6:30am, 11:00am, 3:00pm, 7:00pm, and 10:00pm. Cat litter boxes are changed twice daily.

Consistency in pricing for all guests in our care is important to us. Cats and some dogs will not attend daycare while in our care, making a “roll into” factor unfair. Therefore, each service is separate and we do not allow a pet to roll into daycare.

Dogs being dropped off and picked up on the same day are considered daycare guests. Daycare guests would be fed, walked, and any other care required is provided by their owners before being dropped for daycare that day.

Boarding guests, however, are in our care during their stay. All clients do receive discounts on those services such as daycare while boarding for only $8 (normally $21).
